Fuel Contamination Drain-Off

Have you accidentally put the wrong fuel into your car or van? If so, here’s what you should do:

If you haven’t started driving yet:

Don’t switch your ignition on as that’s when most of the damage is done; remove the key from the ignition and then alert the staff at the petrol station. You should then make sure your car is in neutral and push your car to a safe place if possible. If you have already started your engine:

Turn off the engine as soon as it is safe to do so, put your car into neutral and call Scarborough Autocare & Performance on 01723 671860. We can come and drain and flush the system to remove all of the incorrect fuel and get you back on the road again.
